Ocean Freight

When shipping by ocean freight, cargo is transported in large containers on a ship. In addition to full container load (FCL), a common option is to consolidate smaller-volume ocean freight from multiple customers into a full container. This process is also known as Less-than-Container-Load (LCL). Compared to air freight, LCL ocean freight is a good alternative for less time-critical shipments.

Especially with LCL freight, the volume of the individual cargo is an important factor in making the best use of the full container load.
